It is always a pleasure to listen to musicians perform be astounded by their ability and accomplishments. I often contemplate the amount of work and effort that has lead them to reach such an incredible standard.
But what inspired them to start? Was it someone in their family playing to them? Was it a friend, a pop star, someone they heard on the radio? Perhaps, but I expect is was a teacher at school.
Here at Recordings 4 Schools, we get very busy at Christmas and in the Summer when we travel all over the country to record in a huge variety of educational establishments from Primary Schools to Universities. Most of our recordings are produced on CDs for the pupils to sell, raising funds for their school or a charity close to their hearts.
We are privileged to hear the children within their school, usually singing songs in class groups that they have chosen with their teacher. Often these are karaoke style to a backing track, but sometimes the teachers and music staff join in too and we also record instruments and percussion played by teachers and students that have been practicing hard.
When a school is brought together through music, it is wonderful to witness the pride the students have in their achievements. To help them make a record at this stage makes it all worth while, and we hope that will come across their recording for years to come and they will remember the teachers and staff that allowed this to happen.
